Ottens Flavors introduces two exciting fruit flavors – yumberry and mangosteen – now available for beverages and food products.
Ottens Flavors is now offering its customers two new and delicious flavors originating from fruits of the tropics: yumberry and mangosteen. This latest development reflects Ottens’ commitment to harvesting super-fruits from around the globe that can be used in the creation of flavors that are both functional and highly palatable.
Richard Robinson, CEO of Ottens Flavors, said, “Yumberry and mangosteen are among the newest trends in flavors. These exciting fruits should gain the same level of popularity as the pomegranate because of their exceptional taste and healthful attributes.”
The yumberry fruit, also referred to as red bayberry or Chinese bayberry, is cultivated in the sub-tropic region of Southeast China. The brightly colored fruit tastes both sweet and very tart. It is thought to aid digestion and offer cardiovascular and eyesight protection. Eaten fresh, canned, dried, or fermented, the yumberry is an ideal flavoring for beverages of all types including juices and water.
The mangosteen fruit is a native of Malaysia that was recently made available in the United States. Its unique taste has a multi-layered sweetness that is slightly acidic. Consumed raw, canned, or frozen, this fruit works well in desserts, syrups, and jams as well as many beverages. It is known in Southeast Asia as the “Queen of Fruits” and is rich in antioxidants.
